  Scott Tannen

  Founder & Chief Executive Officer

  Scott Tannen is CEO and Founder of Boll & Branch, the world’s leading luxury and sustainable home brand. A seasoned and innovative entrepreneur, Scott is recognized for both commercially and socially disrupting the textile industry for the good by launching the world’s first line Fair Trade Certified bedding in 2014 with his co-founder and wife, Missy. Under Scott's leadership, Boll & Branch experienced meteoric growth, becoming the world's largest online retailer of bedding and attracting a $100MM investment from renowned private equity firm, L Catterton, in 2019. Additionally, Boll & Branch has been recognized globally as the market standard-bearer in sustainability, not only becoming the largest purchaser of Fair Trade Organic Cotton in the world but creating a unique supply chain that has elevated tens of thousands of farmers and factory workers in the developing world above the poverty line. Always living their values, in the early days of the COVID-19 crisis, Boll & Branch manufactured and donated 7,800 mattresses and pillows to emergency medical operations and pop-up hospitals in the NYC-area while donating over $150K to Habitat for Humanity in October 2020. Prior to founding Boll & Branch in 2014, Scott’s rapid rise through the marketing organization of Nabisco/Kraft Foods culminated in his creation of one of the first digital marketing organizations in the Fortune 100. He has been recognized for shepherding and evolving heritage consumer brands such as Altoids, Planters, and Oreo, enabling them to thrive in the Digital Age. Following a three-year stint building and heading the Global Digital Marketing Group at Wrigley, Scott founded Funtank in 2007, which he then merged with renowned digital agency WDDG. The combined venture quickly became the world’s leading publisher of casual games, while also serving as digital agency of record for the likes of LEGO, Duncan Hines, American Express, Coty Fragrances, and many more. Scott sold Funtank to Publishers Clearing House in late 2010. Scott has been the recipient of some of the industry’s most prestigious awards including Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2016, Gold & Bronze Clio Awards, multiple Cannes Lions, One Show Pencils, Gold EFFIEs, and recently the 2020 Goldman Sachs Builders & Innovators award. Through the years, Scott has been been an advisor to many early-to-mid stage growth companies. Recently, he has become a Board Advisor to Omnichannel Acquisition Corp (NYSE: OCA.U), a blank-check acquisition vehicle and operates red5 Capital, a growth and venture capital firm for early-stage social enterprises.

A passionate creative, Missy brings a fresh perspective to the textile industry, challenging conventional design and sourcing by launching the world’s first Fair Trade certified bedding in 2014 with her co-founder and husband, Scott Tannen.
